It was supposed to be a quick five-year stop. In 1999, I landed on Florida’s First Coast, thinking it was just another chapter in life’s adventure. But then came the sunny days on our beaches, neighbors who wave from their front porch, and the small-town charm tucked into a growing, vibrant community. Before I knew it, my family had put down roots — and my “temporary” home had become the place I never wanted to leave.

Over time, that love for the area inspired me to help others make the First Coast their home, too, and I launched AtHomeJax.com. In doing so, I found myself not just pointing out neighborhoods and homes, but also sharing my favorite cafés, the best seats at local events, and the hidden spots that make living here so special.

The idea for First Coast Favorites was a natural next step — a way to share that same insider knowledge and enthusiasm beyond one-on-one conversations. Today, it’s my place to spotlight the restaurants, shops, events, and local treasures that make the First Coast such a warm and welcoming place to live.
